Know what your week may cost

Budget-aware cooking

Your ingredient price list powers recipe and cost-per-serve estimates. Compare the shopping list with a weekly budget and replace estimates with actual prices as you shop.

Why it matters

Built around the way recipes really arrive

Generic recipe prices rarely match a real household. Kyura starts with the prices you enter for ingredients you buy, in the units and pack sizes that make sense to you.

Those prices feed recipe total and cost-per-serve estimates. Recipes with incomplete data show a partial estimate and identify the missing ingredient prices instead of pretending the number is complete.

The active shopping list compares its estimated total with the weekly grocery budget you set. You can replace an estimate with the price paid, complete the shop, and build a simple weekly spend history.

The flow

How it works

01

Set a weekly budget

Choose a grocery amount that fits your household rather than accepting a default.

02

Build your price list

Add the current prices and units for ingredients you regularly buy.

03

Plan and estimate

Recipe costs and the week’s shopping estimate update from your saved prices.

04

Record the real shop

Enter actual prices as needed and complete the list to keep a weekly history.

No supermarket API in v1

Kyura does not claim live Coles, Woolworths, or ALDI pricing. The first version uses values entered by the user.

Partial estimates stay honest

Missing prices are flagged so you can see where an estimate is incomplete.

Designed for later integrations

The data model can support retailer pricing in a future version without making it a launch promise.

Common questions

Clear before clever

Where do the prices come from?

In v1, you enter ingredient prices manually. This keeps the estimate tied to the products and shops you use.

What happens when an ingredient has no price?

Kyura shows that the recipe estimate is partial and identifies the missing price rather than hiding the gap.

Can I record what I actually spent?

Yes. Shopping list estimates can be replaced with actual prices, then logged when the shop is completed.
